I am assuming that the water will be high.

Do you river guys throw crankbaits this time of year?

Crankbaits?
Umbrella?
Any Finesse?
Any Worms?

retrieve fast or slow? top or bottom?

I haven't fished that river in particular but if I were fishing it I'd try the usual river baits that I use in other rivers. Not because I know they'd work but simply because I wouldn't know any better. My go-to baits are spinnerbaits (I like chartreuse), cranks (Shad Rap in fire craw color), and a couple different grubs (Charlie Brewers paddle tail grubs in green pumpkin or baby bass). I'd also throw some plastic worms in your favorite colors and weighted in your preferred style.

I'd vary my retrieves with all baits mentioned and also try different depths.

Good luck and take pics!

with the high water, fish the shoreline eddys. Pitching a 1/2 ounce texas rig with your favorite worm/creature/flipping bait, or a 1/2 ounce jig will get you bit in the eddys. Tighten the drag and hang on. Spinnerbaits work along the banks as well.

I got skunked over two days.................had one bite and it was with a crawfish jig......no cranks or spinners got a sniff.....even when the dams lowered the level.
