I think that's a wels catfish, from Europe.

They use all rod&reel over there for those wel cats. If I had kids over there they wouldn't be swimming in that river. Thier pretty aggressive fish.

Well if he did he had to use his whole body LOL

I would love to catch a flathead that size. That would be AWESOME. After setting the hook you better hang-on. Every muscle you have would be aching from the sheer power of that fish.

I doubt it was an Uglystick. Theres alot better rods on the market. I've broke several uglysticks over the years, while fishing for flatheads. Broke both of them on hooksets. Alot of the bigcat rods have eglass in them. It absorbs alot of energy and the rods can take the punisment. I broke a rod last year I never thought I would break. a TWC rod. Hooked a big flathead in deepwater, 55' and snapped on hook set. That fish made me look like fool.
