If I am looking to catch live bait specifically for kings right out of Lockwood Folly inlet at Oak Island, what is the best strategy? I know I could sabiki rig or cast net whatever is out there. But my castnet isn't too big, would that still work? If I were too sabiki rig or cast net, what baitfish should I expect to catch off Oak Island (in the summer months)?

I could be mistaken, but I don't think you're going to catch much in a cast net this time of year. Small blue fish make an excellent bait. Catch them on hook and line.
Summer will bring jumping mullet and Menhaden, both excellent bait. More plentiful later in the summer.

My fault didn't specify... I meant during the summer/warmer months. Thanks for the info. Can you get menhaden on a sabiki rig?
