Can anyone point me in the direction of a good charter for my sons birthday. We are looking at going out of Wilmington and want to near shore to off shore fishing.

How many people for the charter, 4, 5 8????? That will tell you what size boat you can all get on together. What are you wanting to target? How long of a charter, 1/2 day or whole day trip? You will need to know these type of things to get the right charter for you guys.

We are looking at a full day 7/8 hr trip for 2 kids and 2 adults and would like to catch reds, flounders just have fun. What ever keeps the kids entertained.

Check with the guys at Tex's Tackle. Several of them do charters themselves and they know every decent captain/guide in the area. I'd go with whoever they endorse.

He said nearshore, but then said he wanted to catch reds and flounder. I'll give another nod for Breadman, but if you are sold on Wilmington and don't want to go up to the Topsail area, I would suggest Rennie Clark

if you decide you wanna push offshore a little bit hit up capt rick croson. vertical jigging, tuna popping, bottom fishing, and trolling. he'll do it all in one day. I'm heading out with him in a little under a month
