They stocked muskellunge into Fontana years ago but I think they were hybrid or tiger muskellunge

I think the WRC is beginning to stock brown trout in lakes that have large blueback herring populations

I think they are stocking them in Glenville and Appalachia Lakes which apparently already have small populations of wild brown trout and increasing herring populations.

Another option would be to stock hybrid stripers as you suggest.
