Wrapped up Christmas festivities at my Dads place on Gaston this afternoon and bro talked me into a quick trip. Left the dock at 4:15 and back within an hour with 20-25 lbs of striper (3 fish around 7-10lbs). All caught on red eyes. Prolly be back on the water bright and early to see if theyre still around!

Red eye shad is a lipless crankbait. We were in a creek mouth when we caught those. Look for gulls and bait and you'll be in the right area. Also google Charlie Taylor fishing reports, he gives pretty good current reports on where/what they eating every week.

Didn't know what a Redeye was either but lipless cranks were doing for me at Kerr as well.

New to this chain but after 3 trips to Kerr around 'brrr' Christmas I started to connect. Returned a half dozen really nice 24"+ fish and kept 1 for the table.
