I would tend to think they are getting better. I have had good luck with them over the past 7 / 8 years. I think more people are fishing for them. Today the ramp was empty when I put in, about 7. When I took out at noon, the ramp was full. I think most were Trout fishing, but in the past there never was that many boats on a day like today (Sunday and crummy weather).
The striped bass in Wilmington can and do reproduce in the Cape fear and NE cape fear. . 1/2 of 1 percent of hybrids can reproduce that is why the atlantic states marine fisheries commission doesn't want them put back in Jordan. Virginia will not allow any Hybrids to be stocked in any water that flows to Chesapeake Bay.
