It can be real fun catching that size fish. Haven't had much luck (on the fly), with bigger fish. Catching that size keeps me interested. Keeping my hopes up that catching that size will get me ready for the big ones, when it happens.
EvBlue and I were out there Friday afternoon and were actually having some trouble finding the silly things, but first we were using larger offerings trying for bass also. He got a nice sized perch on a lipless crank while I was striking out. I finally switched over to a beetle spin rig with a small tube bait and started picking up bream; ended up catching 6 and some were pretty good sized. I downsize and have some fun when the big boys don't cooperate as quickly as I would like. Some days you have to work for the big ones; I was out there avoiding work...
