Hit the water just before lunch today to see if we could find a few drum and then go looking for a trout. The morning started off slow with nothing to show except a largemouth and a pickerel. After a couple of hours we made a move to another creek a few miles away that proved to be a wise decision. We pulled into the creek and immediately found several small schools of drum. Before it was said and done we put 25-30 in the boat on Squarebill Crankbaits and Billy Bay Halo Shads. Fish were in less than 3 feet of water with a grassy, mud bottom and pretty spooky but very aggressive. Vertebrate Smile Fisherman Fish Fin

Thanks guys, it was a blast. First time I've chased reds in a couple of months and I've missed them dearly. The Chasin Tails trout tournament is about over so I'll spend more time with other species over the next couple of months. About time for some striper/crappie fishing and big schools of winter reds.

You can do that around Washington, I've caught reds, trout, flounder, striper, LMB, white perch, white cats and crappie along the same 2 mile stretch of shoreline on the same day.
