Folks worried about some coal ash. High Rock has been the local dump for several municipalities for years, mercury, raw sewage, etc, still plenty of fish there. Not saying that this is good thing, but it may not be end of world that some would have us believe. If nothing else, it focused attention on cleaning up that waterway.

There is absolutely no doubt that there are worse examples of pollution in this state and around the country. That does nothing to change the fact that one of our cleaner waterways was flooded with some pretty nasty stuff. It could have been prevented but it wasn't, it should be cleaned up by DE but it won't. Pointing across the fence to another problem accomplishes nothing but to divert attention .......

something has affected kerr lake, whether it was coal ash or something else. i know the fishing at buggs has been slow this year.this time of year stripers are schooled up and folks catching limits.this year few small schools found and only few caught..even catfishing is slower than the past. maybe its our tatics fishing same as always like trolling bucktails ,spoons..dont know but i have been casting, trolling different type lures jigging, but just not marking many fish...maybe its just one of those years..but the chemicals in the coal ash didnt help things.....
