You don't have to wait to night time to get a drum bite on the Neuse River. Try those same eveing spots in the morning. We've been doing great catching plenty of fish from 6:30 to 10:30 each morning. Yesterday we landed 13 by 10AM! So get out there and each cool weather and sunrise and of coarse giant red drum.
I've got a few openings for Sept if you're in need of a guide.

thanks capt i always tryed to tell em day time they bite just as good as nite ;) we put 9 in the boat one day a few years ago in less than 3 hours :)

Excellent report, Capt. Gary! My son and I learned a lot from you about how to fish for old drum a few summers ago. Yes, the morning bite has truly been epic! Hope Irene doesn't mess the bite up too much...
