Ok... has anyone tried the DOA Airheads around the Pamlico/Tar River areas for Trout, Reds whatever, and if so how did they work. I've been seeing videos and looks like it a good versitile bait so i've been stocking up on them so i can try them out when I can get a chance.

They are an awesome bait. Trout, reds, stripers, flounder etc. I like fishing them weedless in the stumps.

Are you fishing it as a swim bait or with a jig head?

Could you help out a novice and share how you like to rig them? I recently lost a bite due to incorrectly rigging a gulp jerk shad. Thanks in advance.

Weighted Worm hooks weedless in the stumps and on jig heads in open water or under a popping cork. Mark Nichols the owner of DOA does a great job explaining how to rig and fish them here. Same goes with the rest of his baits. http://youtu.be/ozUOf90QAS8
