Having a problem with my dropper loops. I have tied them hundreds of times on heavy line 40 lb plus, but while trying to time them on some 15 and 20 the line kept snapping on at the loop. I tried different brands to make sure my line wasn't old. Any suggestions?

If your using floro for your dropper line then I would say thats the problem.

Do it with mono too. Sometimes I get lazy and don't spit on the knot when tying gold hook rigs and when I sinch them they break. Get some spit or water on them and the friction from winching them down doesn't weaken the line.

I do as fishincary says and wet every knot I tie, including dropper loops. Mono, flouro, or braid. 10 to 50 pound line and have not had a problem. Just get it good and wet.

BTW, flurocarbon line is much more sensitive to higher temperatures than mono or co-polymer as its melting temperature is much lower. This is why many believe that flurocarbon has poor knot strength.
