Nice Drum!
Dave, I'm headed to Cedar Island next Thursday from Greensboro. ... any suggestions of where to pick up some big mullet on the ride down? Looks like you are unfortunately across the river from my route down Hwy 70. I'd come by water but that would be quite a haul in my 13' Whaler :)
Thanks for any suggestions!
Fred

On another note...... looks like I need to pick up some DOA Airheads!

I have picked them up at Capt Jims in Morehead before. Give them a call before you head down. My cousin is going down there next weekend and mentioned something about a 13 whaler. Do you know Matt Leonard?

That's who I'm going with, lol. I grew up in Goldsboro half a block from "Nan and Pa." Maybe you are Jordan or another one of Eddie's sons? Small world. :)

Thanks for the tip on bait from Captain Jims! I'll give them a call.

and I'm sorry to Pamlico Tackle for hijacking your fishing report!!!!

One my sons, my daughter and I had the pleasure of fishing several hours yesterday with Capt. Dave. It was a beautiful day on the water and we saw lots of bait in the river but no takers. Perhaps too much fresh water in the river keeping them at bay (pun intended). My daughter is headed back to college next week and has really been looking forward to hooking up with another old drum, but it will have to wait till next year. Thanks Dave for working hard to find us one! Just one of those days. But it was one pretty boat ride out there!

If you're headed down to the Oriental/Minnesott area to stalk the old drum you need to touch base with Capt. Dave. He is a great guy, a great guide and a great resource for any of your tackle/bait needs. He has also been a great supporter of NCangler.com for number of years. Please let him know that you heard about him here and appreciate his support. :)

Yes Sir, Cpt Dave will take care of you. If you want, hire him for a trip. He has a sweet nice new Key West. He has popping corks and all your needs in the tackle shop also. Give him a call and see whats happening in the lower Neuse.
