EI in a week and freaking pumped

I'll be in EI next Sunday and already have my fishing kayak and surf poles ready. That's all I need, right? This is our yearly trip down to the area but the first time I'll have my yak. If it was up to me I'd be in the sound all week, but I'm sure my better half wouldn't be too happy about that! Just trying to get a heads up on what the action is on both sides of the island. Love jigging and fishing live bait. Any info would be appreciated. I'm sure I'll be spending a good bit of time on the beach. Just need to try and figure out how to convince her that the best time to soak up rays is at the butt crack of dawn. Always wanted to sore mouth a mess of flounder too. Thanks for any help I can get

Set a schedule, she gets ready around 10am and be there to pick her up. That gives you 5am-930 or so every morning to fish. Evenings you split a few days. Fair is fair, it's all about compromise. Or you just make her good and mad the first day so she goes and does her own thing and doesn't really care where you are!! I've tried both, both have there benefits and drawbacks LOL!!
