Finger mullet on mullet rigs catches blues one after the other, it's that simple. If you are content with catching blues, the occasional red and very occasional spanish mack, I don't know why you would use anything else.

The surf was teaming with fish this weekend - whiting, pompano, drum, blues, spanish, albacore, etc. I caught more blues than i could count and three spanish mackerel (one on a mullet rig and two on a Kastmaster) and saw the rest swimming or caught. Oh, and two dang pelicans which makes three in the last two weekends!

Any sea mullets or spots biting? My kids love to catch them.

I caught one whiting but I only used mullet and drum rigs which aren't optimal for catching whiting (sea mullet). I saw they were catching spots on the pier so they are probably around in the surf.
