Fished the point at Emerald Isle (on foot). Started with a golden bream jerk shad, got a small blue. After an hour or so of nothing, I caught a 12" flounder on a gulp shrimp.

Then the fun started. A big school of blues showed up and I hung 10 or so in short order. It was a lot of fun on light tackle. Caught them on the gulp, then switched to a silver stingsilver once I figured out what was going on.

Kept 3 for dinner- I'm one of the oddballs who really likes fresh bluefish.

Always fun. I go with a 4", 20# wire leader when those snappers come by to keep from losing lures.

Nothing wrong with blue fish, I think they taste great as long as you cook them up the day you catch them. A lot of people will bleed them as soon as they catch them if they are going to eat them also.

Works okay for Spanish, too....but only in the surf. Unlike Blues, Spanish can be very leader shy.
