I wanted to say hello to you all. I've spent my carrier moving Gulf Coast to West Coast and a few places in between. First time on the East Coast as a permanent location. I've done a lot of reading about fishing in the area. I figure most of my moves I finally feel confident in about a year at a place . My goal is to cut that down by several months. I'm 0 and 2 for the weekends here, I've tried the Pasquotank River, Coinjock Area, and Merchants Mill Pond locations. Which were all great paddles and awesome drive times. (In TN my trout steams were a 1.5 hour drives and lakes were 20 − 30 mins.)

Well I'm making this to long and we all should be fishing. Have a great weekend and Thanks for the site. I'll try to help where I can with reports, when that day comes.

Thanks Chris

Update: Awesome day in the Pasquotank River. Lost count of the crappie (I guess about 15.), about 5 bass and a bluegill. Most of them were small. The bait I used to start was Dark green jig with a lime color bottom. Then after loosing that went to white. Also was throwing a Powerbait shad color small size that pulled most of them to the kayak. I lost about a 3 lbs Bass and 4 keeper crappies. I had forgot one of my three nets I have in the house. (I guess I'm not used to catching, so the last few weekends I did not miss it.) I'll give it a try again today after finding some live minnows. Good luck to you all.

Hello Chris and welcome to the site. I have been here for two years. I have only had some luck on Little River, but I am always hearing people catching fish in all the rivers near our area. I have also heard that Perquimans River is pretty good.
