Was lucky enough to spend most of July exploring Northern Michigan and the UP. My uncle lives on a private lake that is ranked among the best smallmouth fisheries in the state. With little fishing pressure for such a large lake, thus makes for incredible experiences. The average smallmouth ranges between 2.5 - 3 lb. Pike are also abundant in the lake. (they bit off some of my best lures) It wasn't uncommon to catch 20+ fish between the two of us in a short evening of fishing. I thought the forum would enjoy a peek at some of these trophies. The picture of me(and bass) in the Red jacket was my new PB smallmouth. I caught that fish on a crawfish crank bait in the upper peninsula. Crazy ten + minute fight to get the fish to the boat.:D
