Took my girls out for their first fishing trip ever today, and my first real trip on Falls Lake. Let out at the marina first thing this morning and charted the lake for a bit to get to know the waterway a bit better. Threw out a jointed rapala and caught a couple of small panfish, and one bass, ~14".

No trophies, but a great day on the water.

Both dogs got a tad curious and each slipped overboard in the middle of the lake - thank goodness that momma is a veterinarian and forced me to put their life jackets on! I'd be in the "doghouse" for sure if one of them drowned - especially for the pitbull that is a better anchor than a buoy.

I have a St. Bernard mix. He hates the water but loves the boat. One time the family and I were camping and I pushed him overboard to cool off.. He went straight to shore. We were only 20 feet or so away so we had quite a chuckle.
