Saw my first coyote on Falls yesterday. Fishing up Horse Creek just past Water Fork when it came out of the brush and walked the water line for a couple hundred yards. I don't think it even noticed me !!
The coyote population has grown, the days of me trekking through the woods to find remote fishing spots are over!! I saw a really big coyote in Durham city limits, old oxford hwy and hamlin road. keep your eyes and ears peeled, several people in Raleigh were attacked
Last I recall it was a fox that bite the guy and the rest dealt with people w/dogs. Basically the dog was the issue not the people. At least that is what the experts say. Plus having a coyote track you is not an attack. Unless I missed the news articles on an attack.
When I visit my brother, I have noticed that I 40 is paved with dead foxes. Have yet to see a coyote, but I hear them howl all the time near Wilton Springs.
The chance that a non-rabid full grown coyote will attack a human being is even smaller than getting bit by a shark. They'll grab a cat or a small dog but we're too big to be considered prey....
