Just made my first investment on a 2013 jackson cuda 14 demo boat from the Great Outdoor Provision in Charlotte. I would highly recommend doing business with them, they helped me out a lot. I got this yak for $1099 so I think I got a pretty good deal :). I would also like to thank Eric Boyd for introducing me to this sport. Now you just have to take me on the river with you... :) lol I am mostly going to use it bass and crappie fishing, and at Emerald Isle for anything I can catch in the sound. Let me know what y'all think. In the future I'm going to hook a depth finder to it and hopefully an anchor trolley.

You'll love that down in the sound in EI. I was just out off an oyster rock under the Cape Carteret side of the bridge catching flounder from the yak on Sunday. If I'm out, you'll see me in a pale blue 14' Malibu Stealth.

Happy fishing both salt and freshwater, tight lines!
I'm thinking about getting the center hatch insert for my cuda 14 soon... Does anyone know if I can still put rods under the insert?
Yes. Nstagator has one and the rods can still fit inside maybe slightly off center. He also has a lot of rigging which might be helpful before grabbing a drill
Hey if you want any pics I have a lot of rigging on my cuda 14. Lots of yak attack gear, tracks, mighty mounts, anchor setup. Anchor trolley. Etc...

You can still put your rods in from the front hatch with the center insert.
Well I'm thinking about ordering me a depthfinder for my cuda 14 and some 8inch gear tracs hopefully Friday. I have done a lot of searching on this board and am looking at the lowrance elite 4x hdi, humminbird 561, and the humminbird 561 DI. I'm leaning more towards the lowrance just because it's color but I really like the hummingbirds because we have a 561 on our bass tracker and it's removable. Which would be the best? Also I'm planning to mount it on the rod hatch and have the transducer in the hull (I don't won't wires running in the boat) Would one depth finder be more water proof than the other? This is my very first yak and I haven't tested it out yet (waiting for paddle to come) but I know I'll want a depth finder soon so I want to go ahead and put it on there. Also I'm going to the beach soon and want it to use in the sound at EI.
Thanks, Trevor

Take a look at the Raymarine Dragon Fly.
what size of these do I need to run the wires through the rod hatch?

I've got the 581HD SI. If you have the coin and plan on going out in open water it has GPS on it. Will send you some pics shortly.
I'm ordering all of this tomorrow :) soo excited lol. I'm going to get my battery from Walmart, a smaller Rubbermaid box to put it in and Velcro it to the hull. After I get some time in on the yak I'm planning to put on some small yak attack geartracs and put some zooka tubes on them.

Check out the lineup of yakattack stuff for your fishfinder mounts and stuff.
Just got my lowrance elite 4x HDI today and am super excited :). I just finished mounting it and I cannot wait til next week for me to try my yak and depth finder out. Also I want to put out I've never used a color depth finder before but I am so surprised how clear this unit is

Here's my update for today lol. Today I got my first paddle (bending branches angler ace) and a leash for it. I also made a PVC kayak cart today and last night (still need to add a pool noodle). I think this all I'm going to do on my yak except geartracs later for rod holders. Let me know what y'all think...
