I've been a member of the site for a while, but this is my first post. I thought I'd wait until I had something worth posting. Fairly new to saltwater fishing, but caught my first trout, as well as a decent striper yesterday in a creek off of the Neuse River. Both were caught on A Mirrolure 17mr. The Striper took it about 5 seconds after it hit the water. I actually caught the trout on a bad cast that caused a "bird's nest" in a new spool of braided line. After I finally got all the knots out and began to reel in my line, it was on.

That's some nice fish there man ....... almost 20" for your first trout, can't complain about that!

Yesterday was a bit of a tough bite. 5 of the 9 I caught were between 7 and 8 a.m. But I was seeing fish caught here and there. You taught yourself an important lesson. Lure falls to bottom nice trout, normal casts no trout.
