Seriously, Not really sure, but the deeper it is the colder it usually is. Propably check on some of the weather sites on the internet and find specific spots and temps.
Might be discontinued by the mfr - their current 200-series models of PihranaMax 'finders don't list this as an accessory, but it fits my PihranaMax 20. I found one on eBay for a little less than half price after shipping.
Oh yeah, Minn Kota makes a self-contained device -- here it is, air and water temp sensor. Cabela's -- Minn Kota Fisherman's Air and Water Temp Sensor
Its cord is 23', so it can get you just a little deeper than Humminbird's, and you don't need to buy a fishfinder to go with it. I've heard of some folks finding them on eBay cheap as well.
