Hello, Everyone! I recently moved to the Heritage community in Wake Forest and need some help with fishing in the area. Of course I can hit up one of the Heritage private ponds with the kids using hotdogs but Im looking for something a bit more challenging.

Can anyone tell me anything about Wake Forest Resevoir? I dont have a boat and the sign there says only fishing from a boat is allowed....is this true/enforced?

Also, what about Durant Nature park's two lakes? Are those good for anything?

Usually this time of winter I start getting the itch to get out there cause I cant wait for Spring. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Durant Park's lakes can be fun. Check the Piedmont report threads for recent activity. Falls Lake is another option.

I fish the "upper lake" and the spillway this time of year at Durant...small spinners, suspending rapalas and weightless rigged trick worms (senko, etc..) in dark green or green/pumpkin works well.

see my post on durant today and a few weeks back. So far all my success has been on cranks fishing the lake closest to the sour parking lot.

WF reservoir has lots of small fish in it for what I have read, heritage lake was supposed to be stocked but never fished there.

Falls Dam is not to far from you, I have had some luck there on and off in the past although I have not been recently.
