Planning to go offshore Saturday. This will be our first trip out this year. Would appreciate an idea where to pickup a king or dolphin.

All depends on where you are going out of (which inlet) and the size of your boat. Last i looked there is a good chance of thunderstorms, hope you have radar or a weather module for your boat. We went last weekend. water is hot, just about everywhere. hard to find a good temp break, bait was everywhere, flying fish at about 10 miles out. I would suggest getting on fryingpantower dot com and getting a "fish here map" from capt dave. Another option if the weather is bad is spanish and albacore. got into a good school of them in about 40-42 ft of water last weekend, busting bait everywhere.

weather looks sporty at best and even nearshore will have a nice wind chop, as far as where to go as said depends on where you are heading out of. for dolphin/kings id be looking at the 15-20 mile range, if just kings you can even work a little closer

Eric, thanks for your advice and the website. We fished for flounder at AR315 & 320, still trying.
