Lived in Jacksonville for a year. Came back home in 68 have been coming for vacation every since weather permiting.Always around the 4 of July.

I grew up in Jacksonville but live about 45 minutes south of there now.

we lived at stricks behind the whirly burger.We vac at south topsail and fish on jolly roger pier. I read Mr. D from the pier got an award.

Ah - the ole Whirly Burger... long gone of course. When I was a boy scout, we camped once on the Air Station and a few of us managed to sneak out and have dinner at the Whiry Burger.
