she's pricey but depending on the model they go as much as $2600 new.. I'm looking for that $200 deal LOL...

Don't confuse Kevlar with carbon fiber. Kevlar is good for one thing. Stopping penetration.
Unless you are going to be stabbing or shooting your canoe, the need for Kevlar isn't that great for a canoe.
There is a misconception often used to sell Kevlar prices and that is scuff/scrape resistance. That is BS. Kevlar is puncture.

If I were going "exotic" I would rather have a Kevlar bottom and carbon sides.
It would lighten it quite a bit.
