Braved the howling, cold winds today to fish a small tournament benefiting the Kids Chance organization with a friend of mine. There were the usual red, trout and flounder categories. Since it began at almost dead low we started out fishing for reds in shallow water but they seemed to have disappeared from our usual spots. With no luck on the reds we headed to Elmores Inlet to try and pick up our flounder and maybe some trout. By the time we got there it was almost white capping and we had to abandon that spot after getting blasted by the wind and headed to the mainland creeks across the icww. We managed to catch 7 flounder with 4 being keepers from 15-19 inches on gulp and live pinfish. Also tried for trout in the creeks but no luck there or in Nixons Channel on our way back to the ramp and the weigh in. The other participants also struggled to find fish and our 19 inch flounder won the division, with no reds weighed in-a picture of an undersized one won, and a grey trout taking the speckled trout trophy.
