Anyone have experience or reviews with them? My boys gave me a Pfleuger President spinning reel for Father's Day, and I need an ultra light rod to mount it on. I noticed GM had these rods on clearance for $20, so I'm thinking about grabbing one this week before next weekend's New River hoedown.

I got one because it was cheap, and I break rods like bulls break china. I have been happy with it. Fairly light, fairly sensitive. No problem with bass up to four pounds in current. Sure, I'd rather have a G Loomis or Kistler, but my wallet begged to differ, so I have a Vortex. No regrets, as I also bought mine on a similar sale. Might have even been $15.00.

The trick is getting more than you paid for, and only expecting so much from your investment. At that rate I'd say it's a decent rod for the money. About the quality level of a Berkley Cherrywood HD.

I went and picked one up last night. For the price, it looks like a decent rod. I'm not expecting a ton out of it, but it'll fit the bill for a panfish/dink smallie rod perfectly.

Yup, it will do just fine on the New. As long as you don't run into a muskie!!!

For 20 bucks, you can't go too far wrong. If it breaks, or you don't like it you aren't out much.

reel seat epoxy comes undone very easily. next time go for a cherrywood if you want to hang in that price range
