Those of you who use Garmin GPS units may be interested in this map set of the Southeast USA. It has a lot more detail of the salt marsh and creeks than what I was using previously. Says it has "High resolution water data - lakes, rivers, streams, and washes”. It made my eTrex Legend 100x more usable and it is free. It is a large download.

Yes, but you don't have to load the entire Southeast US to your GPS. Use MapSouce to select the areas you want to load. I was able to load all of the coastal areas from Myrtle Beach to Beaufort into less than 8mb of internal memory.

Correct, I normally just load where I'm going before hand so it doesn't take up so much space. Good find!

Use the Garmin MapSource program, its located on their website. You load the map file, select what area you want and then send it to the SD card.

Be sure to install MapSource before downloading any maps because they automatically install into MapSource.
