Had alot of Shimano's. Now everything I have but a few are Shimanos. The service they offer is unbeatable IMO. I have called for parts and they are shipped within days, no charge. Any specific questions?

I say if you can cast just about anything, go for it... but if you have trouble casting bigger reels leave it alone unless you want to change the line anyway. Personally I wouldn't be afraid of it but I have a lot of experience with larger reels. I haven't tried any of the newer reels that cost over $150 but I think it would be a good casting reel in the right hands as long as the weight is kept above 5 oz. AL
