What a wonderful day on the water yesterday. A good friend and I decided to get a early start. We were sitting on our hot spot as the sun started to rise. Knowing any minute the trout were going to start chewing. Well so much for the early start and the trout chewing. It was one in the afternoon before we got our first fish. But it was on from then on. Guess being persistent does pay off sometimes. Fishing the Pamlico.

The full MOON plays a big part on fish biting. High noon would have been a good guess for me to fish today. Yep persistence pays big dividends, nice catch of specks.

That beautiful sunrise was worth getting out on the water early for sure. Glad you found the fish before calling it quits. That first fish was the difference between a good day and a not as good day!

What lure did they prefer?
