I'm considering getting a HX370S handheld Marine VHF from Standard Horizon for $148 with SOS strobe and other features. Is there any reason I shouldn't buy this product from Boatersland.com?

Nope, sounds like a good deal to me!
Only thing I could suggest is shop around on the net to find the best price, try boatersworld.com, westmarine.com, consumermarine.com, brokenlegdave.com, and a whole slew of others.
If that's the best price, go for it!
