Change 2 Have room for one on my boat Wrightsville Beach area, targeting Reds Friday 4/17

Changed to Saturday and may not have room for one more this trip.

Heading out tomorrow on my first outing in NC since getting my new boat (15'6" Gheenoe Classic). I will be targeting redfish. I have room for one self sufficient angler (you have your own rod, reel, and tackle). I would prefer someone who has spent some time on these waters and has experience catching reds, but not mandatory. I am not boat captain or a guide and have 0 experience fishing for redfish in NC, so don't expect a banner day of redfishing unless we just get lucky. I have done my homework and have some idea where to go and how to find these fish with the tides forcasted for tomorrow morning. I will be at the ramp at 0600 +/- 10 minutes. Depending on replies to this post, I will launch from either 109 W Salisbury St., Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480 (34.218395, -77.811181); or the Whisky Creek ramp at Trails End Park, 613 Trails End Rd., Wilmington, NC 28409 (34.156167, -77.857238). I will not see replies to this post after 9pm this evening.

It's very kind of you to offer the invitation and I really, really wish I was in a position to join you. I live less than 2 miles from Trailers End. BUT, end though I've been in Wilmington over 40 yrs, I still profess to be the worst fisherman in New Hanover County.

I wish you tons of luck. If you think about it and know early evening, let us know which ramp you ultimately use. If I can get away in the am, I've love to go to the ramp and meet you for a quick hello. If you are not familar with the area, I might can answer any simple questions.

NCFishingKing, It just so happens that I am also off next Friday, the 24th. If weather permits, I'll be heading back down there. Send me a PM if that works for you and what ramp would work best for you or if you have any local knowledge suggesting which would be a better ramp to launch to get to the fish faster.

Well then, Trails End Ramp it is. I want to try both ramps anyway so unless another member replies, and wants to join me that has a preference for the other ramp, I'll be down there around 0600, casting off at first light. I drive a tan Subaru Crosstrek and I'll be towing a small green Gheenoe with a black tiller outboard. Hope to see you there.

Change 2

I apologize, but I have to cancel my trip due to a meeting at my sons' school. I'll post next time I can make it out. Going to head down Saturday morning with my two boys if they want to come along.
