I am just starting to learn about the thrills of flyfishing salt water. This week I cought a Pin Fish on a piece of shrim and small circle hook . Now I am hooked. I am in the Raleigh area and visit Southport and Wrightsville mostly. I have a 16' jon boat with a 9.9merc. Works well in ICW watching weather and wind. I would like to talk to flyfishermen who know that area. I do tie some flies but I'm rusty. Are there any clubs in the Triangle ?

There is a fly fishing club in this area, call Jim Sabella @ 910-367-2224.
Triangle Fly Fishers: Home

One of my dad's neighbors is an officer in the club. He also mentioned once that there's a fly-fishing store in Durham, in one of the shopping centers along NC-55, on the south side of I-40, but I haven't gotten out there to hunt for it yet.
The store is Martyn's Sea and Stream. John Martyn is a nice guy. I think this is the phone # (919-572-1616). He recently moved his shop and I am not sure of the location now.
