Hi friends,

off to Jocassee in 10 days--there is a Trout tnmt there this weekend. I have always found some fish in the main channel in the main basin & near the dam--whether they hit or not is anyone's guess.

At this time of the year I assume the fish will be up the rivers chasing herring & shad. We troll spoons and plugs and live bait sometimes. We have leadcore and downriggers and all the usual trolling gear.

Anyone who fishes between now and then and wishes to help, I'd greatly appreciate it. Where, depths, lures, etc

Coach, Fished Jocassee a few times this time of year in past, a slider spoon in Rainbow Trout color produced some nice Browns, ( used Honey bee spoons 3-4 in thin profile) , my friend, who guides at Dale Hollow did extremely well on Browns on Sunday jigging! Wish I knew how to post pic!Good luck!

Coach, Off points from Indian Creek to Dale Hollow Creek 20-40 ft. September is prime time to fish Dale, especially mid to late. Your Sutton 31 & 44 work very well, If you want almost guaranteed Walleyes plus large Smallmouth & Channel Cats, I would recommend fishing with Dave Clark for a day, by far the best trolling guide on Dale, fished out of Willow Grove Marina, I have caught my PB Smallmouth , Brown & Rainbow ( all over 7 lbs in Sept. there, also got a 2 lbs Bream trolling with Dave, Jim

I have already booked Dave for the 1st day to learn the lay of the lake. Hoping to get into Walleye and Trout, We are staying at horsecreek marina. Really looking forward to it. 5 days there then 5 days in E Tenn at Ft Pat Henry lake for more Trout fishing. 10 days (9/14-9/25) of trolling for my 60th in two places we have never fished.--Can not wait.

Coach, Great plan! Dave will put you on fish, he trolls worm harnesses for Eyes near Willow Grove and large spoons in dam area for Trout, with your experience, you should have no difficulty catching Trout,stayed at Horse Creek last year, they have done major positive improvements,good luck, BF

Since I watched Billy Westmoreland catch giant smallies at DH on his show, I have always wanted to fish it. Now with the Walleyes and Trout doing well---look out here I come. Lol

So--Jocassee in a week, 2 weeks in July we are at Fontana Village for a week fishing there, Cheoah, & Calderwood, then our usual week rental in Murphy for Appalachia, Notteley, Hiwassie, and Burton

Sept has us for 10 days in TN

Thanksgiving week has us back to Fontana Village

So Much Trolling!! ---Heaven for me & the wife

Coach, I am jealous! If you want, sometime in August get my number from Dave, ( Jim in NC) and I will give you some additional info on Dale, most likely trolled that place over a 100 days, BF
