Hello everyone, My name is Mike. New to the forum.
We are planning a camping trip to Bandits Roost this summer. Was wanting to get some info about the fishing on the lake. How's the bite been? What have they been biting? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone would like to meet up and do a little fishing that would be great. Thanks guys.

Make a handful of posts (that you will need to wait to have moderated) and once you are designated 'Angler Member' you will have more full functionality. At that point, do a search for Kerr Scott and see what you come up with. There are a handful of NCAngler folks with experience on that lake; doing a search may give you some insights.

Welcome to NCAngler!

What Sam said and welcome to the site.

PM me with dates (after a few more posts) or add them to your post so we will know when your up there. Are you fishing from the campground or going out on the water. Kerr Scott can be tough, but it is a great place to fish and Bandits Roost is a very nice campground.

Yes, at both Bandits Roost and Warrior Creek you can tent camp on any site, but you've got to pay for the RV site to get the electrical hook up. However, from what I recall, all designated tent only camping sites do not have electrical. I'll be at Warrior Creek in mid-June with my brother and our sons. We've never camped at Warrior Creek, but we're very excited to check it out.

The bite has been awful for me the past two weeks, Ive fished boomer where the yadkin enters, and I have fished the put-in down to the dam and have had a really hard time catching anything, and I mean anything, I usually have a crank rod, spinner, rod and a rod specifically for baitfish and worm fishing and in the past five trips (over the course of 2 weeks) I have landed one mud cat, 2 white bass, and one really nice bluegill. I dont know what the deal is here lately but I have had no luck on Kerr which can be discouraging considering its the largest body of water close to ASU... hope you have better luck than I have had

Fish Whisperer is dead on.... If you want electric, you need to book a regular RV site. Each of them has a "tent pad" with finely crushed gravel. I stayed at one in April.

My luck there is limited as well.

Good luck and enjoy!

Ok so what I found at Kerr Scott during the Red X meet and greet was if it wasnt a zoom speed craw on main lake and secondary points it wasnt gonna get bit!

I would assume that since they are either in or heading to a post spawn pattern you are gonna find them in the same places as I was there pre spawn.

Green Pumpkin and Watermelon Seed zoom ultravibe speedcraws were the ticket on a carolina rig.

When I was a teen, I used to catch summer bass on Kerr Scott in early morning and late evening throwing spooks near laydowns. I've also had decent luck trolling cranks around main points picking up spotted bass.

Our intentions during the mid June trip is to float Ferguson to our site on Warrior Creek and also float from the dam down to Smoot Park. Can't wait to do some floats with the boys. My brother's son is 6, mine is 5.

Darryl,
We're locked in for 6/13-6/15 and will likely arrive around lunchtime on Friday.

Thanks for all the info guys. Looking at coming down the 3rd week of June. It's the same here on Boone lake, early morning or night the fishing is decent. Boone is different than lake Hickory or Rhodhiss, I believe it's due to being over fished ( 3-4 tournaments a night 2 nights a week). Thanks again.
