Went up to do some scouting for winter trips and took the lady to Helton Creek since I had some work in the area. I tried to take off my "Guide" hat for the afternoon, but she did allow me to give her enough advice so she could fish the right spots with the right flies. The temp was around 31 degrees (frozen guides) and the trout were stacked up in the usual spots. The most effective fly was a #18 bh forest/black mayfly nymph tied by yours truly. I also managed to land a pretty nice bow when I wasn't busy netting her fish.
