Just got back from a family gathering. Great to have the chance to fish and crab with the grandkids. Not normally the most productive time for inshore fishing, but we were pleasantly surprised with the results. Quite a nice variety to keep everyone interested. The strong pullage of Spinner sharks and giant rays always seem to impress the visitors. There was also the amazing mix of bottom critters from the nearshore reefs with sea bass, pig fish, gray trout, flounder, spadefish, sand trout, etc. Inside the inlet our visitors were kept busy with red drum, black drum, sheepshead, flounder, speckled trout, pinfish, and oystercrackers. And the crabbing was as good as I've seen it in quite a few years. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful fishery in NC.
