Ah.. Venice sure aint what it used to be... I grew up 5 miles down the road there from Snook Haven (River Road), on East Venice Ave (Mango Ave.)... Sad to say.. 84 VHS grad... best move I made was gettin out of that town! ha ha hah ah ah ah a.... 
Still visit down there when we can, just got back from spending Xmas down there this last December.
