Hey all,

I'm new to the area and looking to make a trip out to the Noli. I have some spots picked out, so that's not what I'm searching for.

I am going to on the NC side of the border, but the closest gauge I can find is Embreeville in TN -- or if anyone knows what the Toe Rivers gauges translate to in terms of wadeability in the NC stretch.

The Embreeville gauge doesn't give median flows like many USGS gauges. Does any one know what levels on that gauge would translate to wadeable water upstream? 2,000CFS looks very different on different rivers.

I depends on where exactly on the Nolichucky you plan to fish, and if you're wading or floating. I've paddled the gorge anywhere from 350 cfs to over 2000 cfs. I've seen people fish it at 2000 cfs, but they were bait fishing with lots o lead sitting on buckets at the biggest pools.

Each person has their own opinion when and how things are done, but I personally would not go to the gorge when the gage is over 600 cfs, or even above the gorge for that matter.

Awesome thank you. It's just slightly too far away from me to learn from experience.
