Has anyone fished in Virginia for reds, specks, and flounders? ill be back home up there in june and I want to take my kayak out. I here a lot about the Chesapeake and I haven't fished it since I was a kid. anyone know any good places to launch? internet isn't giving me too much.

If i were headed to chesapeake i would target Stripers and Tautog. I am sure there are reds and even specks there too but not my area. Kiptopeke State park has a good launch site with Artificial reef (concrete ships) not 500 yds off shore. Search Kayak Kevin for some really good info on fishing the area.

I really would love to do this. my only concern is that it looks like they are out there in the winter, I wont be up there till june. I also don't know how to currents or chop is. my yak is an ascend fs12t.

Jet Ski Brian lives in the area,, he may have some tips for you for june fishing.. lord only knows he can take photos of the area and their residents.
