Hi all, its been a long time since the yak touched any water....been way to busy. I have a long anticipated, "free" day tomorrow. The girls are out of town, anybody want to go to Jordan?
I am thinking about putting in at the Roberson Creek canoe launch, and heading to my "spot".....on the far fork of the river....

Anyone....????

It's on; oh-seven-thirty-ish at Wilsonville, then over to Roberson Ck. If anyone else has a chance to join us, either show up and look for us, or let one of us know tonight and we'll PM you a cellphone #.

Moseyak bought ourselves some minners and hit the water from the Haw River Canoe Launch. Got to paddle maybe 200 yards before we had to, um, escort our kayaks through the "rapids". The hike back upstream to where we wanted to go was more daunting than we wanted, so we kinda hung out where the two arms of the haw join...

Saw a decent handful of splashes but I didn't manage to hook anything up. He got to stay longer than I did, hopefully he'll have some better news.

Two fly fishermen were coming in as I was loading up to leave - I referred them to the site -- hopefully they'll introduce themselves and tell us how they fared...

Well, once it warmed up a bit, I did manage to boat one channel cat, about 16-18inches(on a large minnow), then I figured out, worms would get me some play from the little guys.....better than nothing(managed a few bream). Lures seemed to be a waste of effort, tried about everything. As Lefty mentioned, it was way low, very skinny water in the river...it was NO fun getting BACK to the car, I ended up tying a rope to my boat and crawling over the rocks to pull it through...I finally realized, I was just going to have to get wet. The highlight of the day for me, was scoping out my favorite spots...its amazing how you suddenly understand where all your lures went over the years...LOL.
