Just starting here, I am active on two three other fishing sites and am happy to be here. I fish in a 22 foot cuddy cabin boat, off of piers and banks and have been out in a Kayak a time or two. I fish mainly salt water and have fished Virginia Beach, NC coast and Florida Keys. I have decided to target specific species of fish and learn as much as I can then move on. Right now I am considering targeting striped bass for in depth study.

Welcome to NC Angler! Sounds like you have a great set-up and plan for fishing the area. We look forard to your posts and hopefully pictures of some great catches!

Howdy!
You mentioned the VA coast and the FL keys -- only gives us a few clues to which parts of NC you like to fish. I'm always eager to keep tabs on kayak paddlers (or pedalers, if appopriate) in the Triangle area...
Also, by the way, Cape Fear Kayaks in Wilmington is hosting the final event in their tourney series, Oct 28, if ya feel like meeting some more paddlers. (Haven't met any hobies down there yet.)
