Caught these this morning in 40 feet of water not far from Satterwhite Point. Bitter cold and very windy. I've never worked so hard for 10 small fish! Still, it was a blast. Now, somebody tell me, are these white bass or white perch?? They look so similar in pictures, but from my reference book, the white perch are more widespread through the state.

By the way, caught these on minnows. They didn't care a thing about cut bait. And they were all the way at the bottom.

Nice ones. I chickened out Sunday, forecast looked too cold and windy to drive all the way up there, so I ended up fishing from the fishing piers on Falls. Only bluegill there in deep water. Also spent an hour at Wake Forest Reservoir, caught two smallish bass and a little pickeral.

Looks like maybe fish are starting to turn on again.
