I fished the Walmart BFL tourney on Lake Norman today and had a great day! I managed 16 pounds and 8 ounces and got first place! Was a tough day, and cold, but got the fish on the super fluke, of course!

Two twitches followed by looooooooong pauses...

And anchored by this 4 1/2 pound largemouth...

The report:

Water clarity was about 3 feet...temperatures were 43 to 45 degrees
Windy banks with rocks produced best
Super Fluke and MegaBass jerk bait - two twitches with long pauses
It was important to have deeper water nearby and the bass were hitting in 5 to 6 feet of water

It was all day but slow. I caught the fifth fish around 11:00 and had three more that I was able to cull. Just had to cover water against the windy banks.

Congrats! I was there, didn't have quite the success you did but it turned out okay. Man it was cold! And what a cluster at the Pinnacle landing. How did you co-angler do?

Unfortunately, he didn't get any. I tried to help him...gave him some flukes and whatever I could to try to get him a fish.

How did you finish?

Do you use floro on ya Flukes? a weighted hook? do ya think they were pickin it up off the bottom or hittin on the fall? I've caught'em a couple times after I let it set on the bottom for several seconds. How good a turnout y'all have?

I use flouro...and they've been hitting on the fall. The tourney had 150 boats in it with some pretty big names in the mix.
