I’m gonna be working in the Charlotte area early next week and was curious about lake Norman. Are there any feasible places to fish striped bass without a boat around there? Blue cats too would be fun to target. Thanks!

For the cats, the fishing pier in lake norman state park will work. Chicken with garlic was the go to bait a few years ago. Cast as far as you can towards the Left/Center off the end of the pier, there is a big ledge about a far cast out

Stripers are uncommon in the lake, but hybrids are stocked. Try the hot holes at Marshall or the nuke plant... be prepared for LOTS of snags.
