lake norman help?

hey all,
i am new to lake norman/freshwater fishing. i have actually been on lake norman twice with no luck of fish, but i have fished the banks of the lake many times still with no luck...is there any pointers or help i can get for this lake

Hit the piers with a jig. Brown is a good color to start with.

I too have not had a lot of luck on Lake Norman, but I have only fished it once on the lake. I do understand that the waters close to the dam is the most productive.
Let me know what you find out if you try it.
