Went down to Lake Norman after dark. I'd promised Jenn a catfish and didn't want to disappoint. Took me awhile but this blue came along and helped me out.

Shad are all over the top and shallows of the lake, cut shad gets the kitty!

Nicely done! I got into a few stripers and some decent bass last night on Norman...did a post on here somewhere...

I'll be in the mtns this weekend so we can try to get out one evening next week, if you want...

serovich, they are all good-- it really depends more on how you cook them. channel cats have tasty white fillets but the blue cats (like the one above) beat them IMO on the table. The key is just to keep the fish cool and fresh, dress it quickly and cook within a few days.

we ate that guy for lunch and it was wonderful, my Jenn can really cook!
